What
is a Support Group
A support group does just that- offers
support to the members of the groups. It provides a safe environment to explore
and learn about issues relevant to the members, such as understanding
depression, learning to cope with chronic illness, sharing information or
resources and most importantly not being alone in the midst of
uncertainty. A trained facilitator helps keep the session on track,
provides structure and post group support.
Groups are cost effective, often very resourceful as each member brings their own talents and a great opportunity to grow.
