Counsellors, Their Qualifications and Legislation.

Karinya’s Counsellors are chosen not only for their appropriate accredited qualifications in Psychology and/or Counselling, but also for their personal gift in relating and responding to clients.

The extent of counsellor’s qualifications varies between individuals with diverse backgrounds in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Nursing, Education, Applied Science, Pastoral Care and Relationship Counselling.

Counsellors offering professional service to children are required by law to have a current Police Check as associated with approval on the "Working with Children Check". Karinya complies with all legislation regarding the professional conduct of its staff, volunteers and counsellors by applying a number of measures to ensure the safety of all clients and children in their care.
